White Pine is a natural choice where warmth and character is preferred. Pine is soft and lightweight with a red knotted appearance. Once it has aged, all pine turns to a golden yellow from exposure to sunlight in a short period of time. Although Pine may also be clear coated, stained or painted in any colour desired. Empey lumber produces pine for exterior pine sidings, interior pine panelling, pine log homes as well as higher grade select clear pine for the woodworker. Pine is an everlasting product for any interior or exterior project. Empey lumber supplies white pine in 5 seperate grades.

Select, short select and hobby pine all are kiln dried to a 6 – 8 % moisture content. – Used for cabinetry, trim and casing.

Common Pine – This is our most popular grade of pine. Consists of boards with solid knots, minimal wane on one side and free from rot and decay. Used in a wide range of projects from exterior sidings to interior panelling.

Sheeting Pine – Any boards that do not meet the common pine grade. Boards may have unsound knots, checking or minimal rot. Mostly used for rustic siding, roof sheeting, strapping or shorter length uses.

For Pine lumber products interior applications include t&g v-joint, bevelled or log siding. All interior products may be ordered kiln dried to reduce or eliminate shrinkage.
